ATEM Control Panel scaling

PostSun Dec 15, 2019 9:02 am

It would appear ( tested on v8.1 ) that the atem control panel software does not respond correctly to non default scaling settings in windows 10.

Scenario - I have a Windows 10 Pro based Lenovo Thinkpad 10 ( touchpad ).
The default windows factory fresh install sets the scaling to 150%.
This is fine for most apps and allows the 1920x1200 10 inch display to show reasonable size text very clearly.

However atem panel is too big ( beyond the size of the screen ) and is unusable.

Setting scaling to a lower value ( 100% ) allows atem to be normal. Obviously with the consequence of tiny text in everything else.

Try this:

1. Brows windows start for Blackmagic Designs > ATEM Software Control
2. Right click the iconn and select "Open file location"
3. Right-click on the shortcut and choose Properties
4. Go to the Compatibility tab
5. Under settings, check "Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by:" and choose System from the drop-down
6. Click OK.

As the screenshot shows - some of the suggested options aren't there. ( and no high dpi option for me )
I tried a few options , which seemed to work , until the machine is restarted , the we are back to an app which us oversize.

( and I replied to the compatibility wizard that everything was fine - which it was ... )

When will we get a linux version :-) I'm not a fan of Windows 10 ... bah humbug :-)

Merry Christmas everybody.

So it looks like I need to upgrade my Windows 10 in order to get the appropriate option on the compatibility settings.

I have an ATEM Mini Pro and I had the same problem with Windows 10 scaled to 150% - the ATEM Software Control would not fit on the screen, or the controls were hidden on top of each other. Following the instructions in this thread fixed it (setting the High DPI scaling override to System in the app's shortcut settings)
