Unable to connect the ATEM TVS with my samsung np550

PostFri Aug 16, 2013 4:33 pm

Hey, greetings.

I can't connect my network card, 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet, to the ATEM television studio, the network connection appears with a limited access.

Also, i set the ip address in ATEM control 192.168.2.1, and my TCP 192.168.2.2, both with the same netmask 255.255.255.0

Can you help me please?, any person had the same problem?

Well.. it's a common problem for things to be miss-configured.

What exactly do you mean by "the network connection appears with a limited access"?

But let's be absolutely certain you have things setup correctly.

1) So you have used the ATEM Setup Utility (and a USB Cable) to configure the ATEM TVS to an IP: 192.168.2.1 and Subnet of 255.255.255.0. What is the Gateway configured as?

2) Your PC is configured as 192.168.2.2 with the same subnet. What is the Gateway?

3) Do you have a direct cable connection between your PC and the TVS (or are you using a switch/hub/router?)

4) Can you Ping the TVS from your PC? e.g. using a CMD prompt type ping 192.168.2.1

Please also confirm that your PC does not have ANY OTHER network setup (e.g. Wifi and/or another network card/cable to a different router).

Thank you for answer.

When i say "the network connection appears with a limited access", i mean the ethernet connection appears like that, and the network isn't identified.

1) I don't have configured the Gateway.

2) I don't have configured the Gateway.

3) I have direct cable, category 6, between ATEM and my pc.

4) When i ping ATEM from my pc, this say 4 package sended but 0 received.

The "Limited Connection" is probably because your PC knows that it cannot route to "the internet" (your PC/Windows would typically expect a gateway and a DNS server configured). It should not indicate that you have any particular problem that would prevent you from communicating with the TVS via a direct connect cable.

I'm surprised the ATEM Setup Utility did not complain when you tried to not set the Gateway. Please confirm that you did run the ATEM Setup Utility with a USB cable connected to the TVS.

In any case set the Gateway to something like 192.168.2.254 (or if that does not work... set the gateway to the IP address of your PC - e.g. 192.168.2.1). Make sure you configure this both on your PC and on the TVS.

Altough i set the Gateway, Ethernet can't identified the network.

I have the network cable coneccted, and the USB cable coneccted.

OK. DID YOU RUN THE ATEM SETUP UTILITY (sorry for the ALL CAPS... I have just asked the same question three times now without an answer). Just wanted to make sure you understood the question.

Setting this likely not change the notification that there is limited access via the network card. That is TRUE. Limited = No Internet. Which will definitely be the case with a cable direct from your PC to the TVS. There is NO Internet there!

Thanks for the response.

In your first post you said the TVS (ATEM) was set to 192.168.2.1 - but now it seems you are setting it to 192.168.2.100 - so that is the problem

In the ATEM Software Control you need to set the TVS's IP Addreess to 192.168.2.100 (as that is what the ATEM Setup Utility is telling you it is configured to be right now).

That <should> be all that you need to change.
