Controlling ATEM Mini Pro remotely.

PostWed Jul 08, 2020 5:35 pm

I have a setup for a client studio who broadcasts each day to TV networks via Zoom, Streamyard and Skype.

We are using a green screen, with a Sony A7sII into the ATEM Mini Pro and a Macbook Pro.

I need to go off-site and would like to control the production remotely eg ATEM and/or the Macbook, so I can manage audio, greenscreen, check the footage, control Zoom etc.

What's the best way to do this?

This would depend somewhat on the network being used, but probably some remote desktop software running on the MacBook Pro connected to the ATEM would be easiest.

There are several remote desktop options available for Mac OS including, Apple Remote Desktop, VNC, and TeamViewer.

Just keep in mind that there is some latency when using such remote desktop applications so how well they work over the internet may be highly variable and will depend on the network connection.
