CCU Control BMPCC 4K trhought ATEM 1M/E

PostFri Jul 10, 2020 1:18 pm

Hello, is there a solution to control Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera cameras through an ATEM 1M / E 4K mixer, so with SDI connectors?
I do not have a ATEM mini but would like to integrate BMPCC into my Studio Cameras and Mini Studio Cameras.
It would be a shame not to be able (what case which will transform a double SDI IN and OUT connection into a single HDMI socket)!

Thanks for your feedback.

Thank you.
Maybe someday ? With a frimware update and some pure hardware to communicate between double SDI and HDMI ...

The HDMI and SDI CCU protocols are going to be different, in the output signal stream, so I think this will require something more than a FW update.

This is a SDI/Bluetooth controller using the same camera protocols as the smart phone Bluetooth camera apps. Looks good on paper, but not sure how well this works in practice. Setting camera Iris, Shutter Angle, etc should work fine, focus will have some lag due to the processing, and color correction could be tricky, but the demo looks good. Thus us the type if unit, you need to try out to see how well it will work in your setup.
