SDI to HDMI Converter

PostMon Aug 26, 2013 8:36 am

I have a SDi to HDMI converter. As per my observations the converter is supplying the Full HD 1080P signal.

My monitor support upto 1080i singnal.

Now I am unable to set the converter's output to 1080i as there is no such option available. The software available for download to make the settings through USB port of converter also says "No user settings available for change".

I also noticed the available software is for Mini Converters only. Even on selecting the Battery Converter we got the software for Mini Converter only.

The converter is working as designed. It only converts the input signal to the output. There is no option to change the frame rate/resolution of change it from Progressive to interlaced.

The up/down/cross may help.

Hi, what is your sdi source? Camera or Atem switcher? If your source is 1080p then that will be your output. Try adjusting your sdi source to 1080i before sending it to the converter.
scaling down the converter software to 1.9.1 maybe helpful. Read this post and see if it will be helpful.

So your monitor now works with 1080p60 (59.94)? Above you said it only supported 1080i?

Anyhow... something worth trying maybe is that you can now get 1080i output from the Cinema Camera using the latest firmware (probably two releases ago). This was done to help compatability with the ATEM switchers that only supported 1080i and not 1080p (since then the ATEM 4K added support for 1080p).

Anyhow if you turn off the overlay with the latest firmware for the Cinema Camera you can get 1080i output.

Give that a try.

Trying the overlays off is already tried. The problem is still there.

In simple words - "My preview monitor and BM SDI to HDMI Converter don't like each other".

Also tried by downgrading the drivers to 1.9.1.

No benefit.

PROBLEM IS STILL THERE AS PREVIOUS.

Just making sure that you do not have any of the dip switches in the ON position especially the one which says "processing". All should be in the OFF position.
