Atem Mini - Hdmi input 1 vs input 2, 3 and 4 not working

PostTue Jul 21, 2020 2:28 pm

Hi there,

I have a 10m hdmi cable, that works on input 1. It does not work on any other input?? I have tried 3 different cables, same thing. Why is input 1 able to use this long cable, and the others not? This is really terrible and I did not expect to have this issue. Any thoughts on why this is the case or how I can fix it?

Kind regards,
Corrie

HDMI input 1 can auto set to RGB or YUV, so it may have some characteristics that allow the longer cable connection. What is the source on the 10: cable? Also, BMD does not recommend longer standard HDMI cable runs longer that 3 to 4 meters. If you need longer runs with the ATEM Mini, you need to either convert the signal to SDI, and use SDI cables, or get the new HDMI Fiber cables, that allow for clean feed in longer runs. If you are using Pocket 4/6K cameras, you will need the more expensive HDMI Fiber/ Copper cables that will retain the CCU camera control connectivity. I went with the HDMI Fiber/ Copper cables, and they work quite well on all ATEM Mini HDMI inputs.
