Mini Converter UpDownCross for VARICAM 27H

Hi there,

I have a Varicam 27H recording into an Atomos Samurai HD-SDI recorder.

I am outputting a 720/25p signal through a Miranda DVC 802 -> into the Samurai. But Unfortunately, Samurai only reads 720/50P.

So therefore, the only way to record a 25p properly was a cross-converter.

I was wondering, whether the Black Magic Mini Converter UpDownCross is able to converter a 720/25p/50p signal into a 1080 25p/50p signal? Is this consider cross converting?

Also, would there be any problems ?

And actually, is there any way to pull out a 25p signal out of a 60p signal from the Varicam? The Miranda DVC converter is extra bulk, and it would be great if there was something smaller that could solve this problem.

The Varicam is quite annoying as it outputs a 60P signal regardless of whether you record 25p or not.
