Setup Help

PostWed Aug 28, 2013 3:19 pm

I am trying to grasp what our needs are to replace/expand our existing live production setup at our facility using Blackmagic Products. We will be using 4-SD SDI Camera's, 1 HDMI Camera and a feed from a computer supplied via HDMI preferably. I was looking at the ATEM 1 M/E Production Switcher and was told that all inputs will need to match to be able to use HDMI & SDI at the same time. Is this something that is handled in the switcher or is this something that needs to be done pre-input such as using some of Blackmagic's converters?

"All inputs will need to match" is referring to the resolution and frame rate. Such as: 720P 59.94
Your case SD NTSC or NTSC 23.98

Your computer and HDMI camera may need scalers to get the resolution/frame rate needed.

If you can supply more info, members can give you more assistance.
Camera make/models and the video card your computer has installed.

The camera's we are currently using are 4 Sony DXC-D55WS Camera's, a Gefen GTV-WHD-1080P-SR attached to a Panasonic GH3, and we are currently using a iMac for computer input using mini-displayport out. I can get more specifics on the iMac if needed.
