How much noise - Rushworks PTX / Bescor-Maxwell MP101?

PostSat Sep 12, 2020 7:19 pm

Recording in a chamber music concert hall we’re quite sensitive to equipment noise.

I have some doubts concerning the MP101 (heard some motor noise in a YouTube video) and the Rushworks PTX models (dreadful loud music in the presentation video covering any useful sound impressions ;-) )

Has anyone experience with either of those options, or can recommend more silent options suitable for Ursa Mini and / or PCC6K systems?

I am aware of
- https://www.vinten.com (Berliner Philharmonie uses FHR 35 - out of my reach)
- Ronin 2 (not cheap either) controlled via Middlethings Atem Pocket Controller https://www.middlethings.co

Signal flow could be ATEM —> Bazcontrollers ATEM2PTZ serial http://bazcontrollers.com/#_ATEM_PTZ_Controller_1

My hope is that someone tells me that Rushworks PTX operates silently...

I got the same question as I'm looking for these ptx product ...

EDIT : I found this footage on the Skaarhoj manuals page
https://github.com/SKAARHOJ/Support/raw ... l_Beta.mov

There is no fancy music ans we can hear the sound of the motors...

Now, I got to ask my sound head ingeneer if its okay or not...
