lose ethernet control of Atem Mini Pro when sharing internet

PostTue Sep 22, 2020 1:56 pm

I've heard this is supposed to work. Any help would be appreciated!

Setup:
-Macbook Pro connected to internet via WiFi
-Macbook Pro connected to Atem Mini Pro via ethernet cable (properly setup static IP on macbook 192.168.10.101 to speak to switcher at 192.168.10.240)
-Atem Mini Pro usb port connected to SSD for recording
-Atem mini pro running 8.4 software update

Problem:
-When I enable Internet sharing of the wifi to devices connected to the ethernet cable atem software control loses connection to the atem mini pro. I'm hoping to resolve this Atem software control connection drop so I can stream through the computer internet connection and still have control of the Atem mini pro over the same ethernet cable, allowing me to use the SSD to record program at the same time.

-I'm not looking to implement a switch and more cables.

Thanks in advance for your help!

We were having a similar issue with our Windows10 laptop after connecting via bridge between the Ethernet to mini pro and wireless internet connection. The internet was dropping intermittently.

A power cycle of the mini pro and laptop seemed to solve it. Start up the mini pro first, then the laptop.

Also, make sure to save the mini pro startup configuration in the ATEM software control app once you have everything right configuration wise in the mini pro.

Somewhere in another thread I read that BMD support has stated that using Ethernet to both livestream and control the ATEM is not recommended.
