ATEM mini PRO RTMP streaming to MS-teams

PostTue Nov 17, 2020 2:51 pm

I have tried to stream to MS-teams, as a live event via ATEM mini PRO ISO as RTMP
I have altered the XML file (copy/paste fb profile) and added the rtmp link+streamkey
I have tried to change to 1280X720 25P and 30P, I know from MS that teams don't support 60P/50P
I did the same with wirecast and it went straight thru to livestream.

I don't want to use it as webcam because I have to record live event session to disk.
a typical link from MS-teams looks something like this.

rtmp://cc5ld6m24nds36cta4klxie4mf-streameuno1sr241-euno.channel.media.azure.net:1935/live/60881d550db59931k091df807a33d317
first 26 digit change with every new event
next "-streameuno" is always the same
    and euno.channel.media.azure.net:1935/live/ always the same
last 32 digits change with every new event.

What is wrong - anybody? :?

I have just learned from MS-stream that encoder setup when streaming RTMP, in MS-teams called "External device"
video setting is as follows:
Video format
    · Codec: H.264
    · Profile: High (Level 4.0)
    · Bitrate: Up to 5Mbps (5000 kbps)
    · Strict Constant Bitrate (CBR)
    · Keyframe/GOP: 2 seconds
There must be an IDR frame at the beginning of each GOP
    Frame Rate: 29.97 or 30fps
    Resolution: 1280 x 720 (720P)
    Interlace Mode: Progressive
    Pixel Aspect Ratio (PAR): Square
Audio format
    · Codec: AAC (LC)
    · Bitrate: 192 kbps
    · Sample Rate: 48 kHz or 44.1 kHz (recommend 48 kHz)

So now my question is, does ATEM pro/ISO convert from 1920X1080 to 1280X720 in livestream?

It doesn't - the RTMP/S output is always 1080p. You could use Restream.io with their transcoding option OR send the RTMP to a Streaming Bridge then use a different capture device on a computer doing the encoding for Teams.
