Intensity Extreme HDMI input/output question

Hi

I am thinking of getting a Blackmagic Intensity Extreme. The unit has 1 thunderbolt port which I will use to connect to the thunderbolt port on my mac. It also has 2 HDMI ports (1 input HDMI and 1 output HDMI). I am intending on connecting a video camera outputting live video to the HDMI input port. I am also intending on connecting a HDTV screen to the output HDMI port.

Using a software switcher like CamTwist will I be able to receive the live video from the camera AND at the same time display something different on the screen?

Any feedback appreciated.
