TVS & Standard Definition

Hi, I was wondering.....if I set the TVS up to Standard Definition....How can I get it to put out 30 fps instead of 60fps....??
Is that even possible....??
In the Tech Specs of the TVS it says in Standard Def the output is 29.97 fps....but I don't know if that is happening for me or not.
My Digital Rapids encoder cannot deal with 60 fps.....It would be great if the TVS could spit out 30 fps.

thanx in advance for any help/advice.

It will output NTSC at 59.94 interlaced frames per second.. which is the same as what is also known as NTSC 29.97 (each frame contains 2 x interlaced frames).

Have you actually tried your encoder? It should work.

Hey Liam....thanx for your reply.

Yes I have tried the encoder. I have two versions of the Digital Rapids encoder.
The Touchstream unit....and the DRC 500 card.... installed in a PC.

Neither will give me a picture when hooked up to the TVS set to SD NTSC.

When I spoke with Digital Rapids Tech support they said that the Touchstream and the DRC 500 are SD cards and need to see only 30fps.....and cannot deal with 60fps as they are both SD units.

When I plug the TVS into the Digital Rapids devices it reminds me of my parents TV back in the 60's.
Snow, Snow and more Snow......(of course I do live in Toronto..:)

I am using the composite input on the Digital Rapids devices (yellow RCA).....using a BNC to RCA converter on the out of the TVS.... and then using an RCA Video cable.

thanx again.

Yes.. That will work. But a simple HDMI to composite converter may be all you need (amazon.com)

Yes .. Some HDMI to Analog may work .. I was tested some very cheap models from ebay .. Really , really bad quality of picture .. SDI to ANALOG converter works great (i have couple of it here) ..
