What device would I need to convert 480i over SDI to HDMI so that my monitor (which doesn't like 480i) will show it? Thanks!

If your monitor won't display 480i then you'll need upconvert your signal to something it likes. In that case an UpDownCross converter would work, but you'll still need the SDI to HDMI converter to get it into your monitor of course.
