Cable Bandwidth Required for ATEM

PostWed Dec 04, 2013 2:40 am

I have a TVS and am wondering if a 200mhz bandwidth cable will be good for an HD-SDI camera hookup at about 100'?

Then cable specs are as follows:
6-Coaxial Construction
26 AWG 7-Strand Tinned Copper Center Conductor
Foamed Polyethylene (PE) Dielectric
Shielding - Dual 95% Tinned Copper Serve and 100% Foil
Flexible PVC inner Coaxial Jackets
Flexible PVC Jacket
200 MHz Bandwidth coaxial cables, low capacitance pairs
NEC CL2, CEC CMP FT6, RoHS Compliant

Thanks for your comments.

Most HD-SDI cable is sweep tested into the 3-5GHZ range so I'm going to say that its a crap-shoot at best. However I know many people sending HD-SDI over their older analog cable.

If its cable you already have in place then no hurt giving it a try, but if your buying new cable hell no.

So I'm guessing that this is VGA cable then? I was looking for a multi-core cable to simplify event runs but this looks like a non starter. I saw that Belden 1694A was sweep tested to 3.5ghz but wasn't sure that was the same type of bandwidth rating as the specs I got on the multicore.

Thanks
