Feature request for Hyperdeck Studio - Slow motion

PostFri Aug 24, 2012 12:26 pm

Hello,

I have a feature request for Hyperdeck Studio. A lot of BMD users produces low-buget live sports videos. For them, it would be fine to create live slow motions for a low price.

My Idea is, to use Hyperdeck Studio for the job. What function ist needed to realize is ? Hyperdeck must be able to record the incoming signal and playback the recording clip at the same time to the output. During the running record, it must be possible to stop/pause the playback, rewind (including the usage of jog/shuttle), jump to live position and playback with full and half speed. (A lot of simple Harddisk-Videorecorders can do it - timeshift-function).

I hope, a firmware-update could realize this request. When the performance of the Hyperdeck in not high enough for uncompressed video, perhaps it would be possible for compressed video.

It would be enough if go back and forth with a controller at different speeds.

Hi Guys,

Newbie post here- but we've been using Hyperdecks in HD for replays in sports programmes for BBC this summer- we've been using an Ashvale slo-mo controller.......in and out of the ATEM 2 M/E- works ok as long as you don't go slower than about 60%, then it goes all 'jittery' and looks like it's the wrong field preference. The biggest pain is the lack of embedded TC in the ATEM SDi..........
Guess what my second post will be about !!!!

Cheers
Dave ;)

Hi Dave,

am I right, that your workflow don't allow recording while playback at the same time from the same hyperdeck ?

So I would need two Hyperdecks for each channel, if I want a continous recording of the channel. On every time, I start a slomo, the other deck has to start recording until I want the next slomo. Then the first hyperdeck starts to record.

When the hyperdeck would be able for chase play, only one hperdeck per channel would be needed...

Does anyone knows, how to set the playback slower by using it without any external controller ? With the build in controls, there is only faster playback possible...

What about the price for Dave's controller ?
