Distorted sound from Apple TV via BMD micro converter

PostTue Apr 09, 2024 11:22 am

I'm using a BMD Bi-Directional HDMI-SDI 3G micro converter to connect an Apple TV 4K (@1080p) from HDMI to an SDI connection on an ATEM 2 M/E Constellation HD. This sounds bad. The sound is distorted, like it cuts out 5 to 10 times per second or so. Micro converter and Apple TV are both on the latest available firmware.

However when I use a Decimator MD-HX for the conversion from HDMI to SDI the sound is fine. Has anybody else experienced this? Any way to fix this?

Did you try forcing 16bit audio from the Apple TV?

Good Luck

Yes, it’s set to just stereo audio and 16 bits.
