Last newbie question

PostSun Oct 28, 2012 9:37 pm

Well hopefully...
Am I right in saying that with the TVS audio is now captured down the SDI or HDMI cable from the camera and that you no longer need to use the aes ebu bnc input?
Any issues with doing this?
Many thanks :)

We've tested both, from a mixer to AES and directly from a camera via HD-SDI. Both were pretty much the same.

Although with the ebbedded audio inputs you cannot configure any delay on the audio.. which may not be an issue for you depending on your setup (1 frame of delay by default with no genlock on your inputs).

If the audio is coming down the BNC with the picture, why do I need delay?

Because that delay is introduced inside the ATEM depending on several factors. Having the audio embedded or not is irrelevant. Do a bit of searching on this forum for a more detailed explanation of the reasons for this.

The delay may not be significant for you to worry about (if it is just 1 frame). But... If you are expecting zero delay - you may have been caught out.
