Muting HDMI audio

PostFri Nov 02, 2012 6:01 pm

We have an ATEM 1 M/E Production Switcher and will be using it exclusively with an ATEM 1 M/E Broadcast Panel. We have camcorders connected via HDMI but want to use our own audio mixer feeding the switcher (via the XLR breakout) and ignore/mute any camera audio fed via HDMI. How can I get the switcher to ALWAYS (by default) do this when we power-up? We are using this set-up with students and need to simplify things, and we won't have a computer connected to this configuration. I've looked through the manual and searched the forum but don't see a solution, and I'm guessing this is fairly trivial?

Thanks!

Mathijs

Doesn't save startup state do the trick?

Ok, but how would configure it to mute the HDMI audio in the first place?

Thanks for your help!

use the audio tab of the software panel to turn off all but the external analog audio channels.

if it was easy it wouldn't be called engineering

Ok, thanks. I ended up doing that- was just wondering if there was a way to do it from the controller without having to hook it all up to a computer. We have our whole system configured on a self-contained cart, no computer.

There is no way from the broadcast panel but if you save the start-up settings on the software panel then it will start like that next time.

Got it, thanks.

Seems that when you Save Start-up it does not recall your Media Pool? And you have to reload it? And can that happen via USB or always has to be via Ethernet?

Sorry for the off-topic question - and I appreciate your help!
