HDMI only accepts 1080?

PostThu Nov 08, 2012 1:09 am

Using the ATEM 2ME switcher - trying to take HDMI out of a computer - works fine in 1080 mode.

However, I need to use 720p on the switcher because the rattler I'm using only does 720. As soon as I change the mode to 720, the computer screen is gone.

I changed the computer resolution to 720 and it still doesn't come through.

Are you sure, that the computer graphic card really generates a 720 p signal ?

720p works great here via HDMI.

I can get 720p in to my TVS and 1ME. For 3.2 firmware and above you have to make sure the refresh rate is set to 59hz (which seems to be picked up as 59.94 when it gets to the ATEM's HDMI port).

This may also be a "graphics card" compatability issue. There are numerous posts about issues of connecting MACs/PCs to the ATEM via HDMI and it seems some card work and others don't. MACs particularly have an issue it seems with selecting anything other than 60hz.

And.. of course... this issue is related to the 59.94/60Hz issue with firmware 3.2 and above... which will hopefully be fixed SOON.

Also, make sure to change the switcher to 720p. I know, sounds dumb for being so simple, but it happens.
