HDLink Pro Update Failed

My HDLink Pro failed to complete a Mac firmware update near the midpoint with a "failed for unknown reason" error message. After removing power, USB and re-powering, the device now does not start and does not indicate 'power on'. Power supply is outputting 12.1 VDC.

Does anyone know a re-set method to re-install the firmware or will I now need to return the device to BMD?
