The 4k versions are not the same as the non-4k miniconverters. And technically they are working exactly as designed. The problem is because they advertise ALL resolutions that they support over their HDMI connectors, computers tend to choose the highest possible one (typically 1920x1080 60hz). Unfortunately, none of Blackmagics other products (namely their capture cards, the ATEM series, and Hyperdeck recorders) support 1080p60. They at most support 1080p59.94 (not 60), or in the majority of cases 1080i59.94 (interlaced, not progressive).
Windows computers however can be manually configured to force them to output 59.94 via their advanced display settings, but Macs and most consumer camcorders do not give you that level of control.
