ATEM M/E 1 or 2 - PiP possibilities

PostWed Nov 26, 2014 10:54 am

I was wondering:

We are looking into buying an ATEM M/E 4k Production device, and we need to be able to do the following:

4-8 inputs
1 PGM output
1 AUX output
1 PVW output

2 PiP's side-by-side, on top of a 'background' video from 3 of the inputs.
like this:

Can an ATEM M/E 1 4k production studio handle this, or do I need an ATEM M/E 2 for this?

Thanks!

Only the 2 M/E models have side by side PiP (aka DVE).

Hi Bram,

This can be achieved with the ATEM 2 4K switchers using SuperSource. SuperSource allows users up to 4 DVEs or Picture in Picture without the use of the DVE key, and appears on the ATEM switcher as a single source. So, your 2nd ME row can be also free for other usage.
