HyperDeck handling of signal loss

PostFri Dec 19, 2014 7:37 pm

Hi there,

I'm considering solid state recorders like the HyperDeck for an application which requires that the deck continue to record even if the signal is temporarily lost. So if you are recording for 2 hours and the connection is dropped for 10 minutes in the middle of that period, or there is no signal present when the record command is sent, it would just record black and not break the clip.

I can't tell from the manuals if this is possible - has anyone tried this?

Thanks!

It will continue to record even if there is a loss in signal.

Thanks! And to be clear, it will also start recording if there is no signal? I would be looking to automate the recording, so it may start 10 minutes before the camera is plugged into a wall jack.

You would need to have some sort of signal being sent into the device in order for it to start recording.
