Plasma TV for Multiview

PostSat Dec 08, 2012 8:00 pm

Does anyone use a Plasma TV for their multiview output?

I want to up the size of ours from a 27" TFT monitor to a 42" TV.

I'd love to use a plasma for the much lower response rate compared to LCD but I'm aware plasma is much more prone to screen burn.

Has anyone got experience of using a Plasma TV as their multivew monitor?

Umm... what is it that you are concerned about exactly? A tv is a tv... so you won't have any inherent problem.

Screen burn eventually would be an issue with the multiview pattern.

Also need to make sure the TV can display ALL pixels (many have underscan so you won't see everything) - or that the TV has a mode where it will display all pixels (not all of them do).

Hey Liam

I'm wary of how severe the screen burn will get - I've no experience of using a Plasma display.

We use our ATEM for around 2 1/2 days a week with it switched on anything up to 8 hours a day.

The layout of our multivew and window text labels never change - so I'm thinking that even if screen burn occurs, as long as it doesn't drift elsewhere on the screen, we shouldn't have too much issue?

We use a couple of Vizio 42 inch LCD tv's for MultiView on our 2M/E and they work great. I don't have an up close shot but here is an overview of our studio.
