Capture with hyperdeck studio pro

PostWed Apr 01, 2015 6:34 pm

We've just buy hyperdeck studio pro, I connect it to Mac with thunderbolt and try to capture. I it is 1080 everything is okay. But when I switch to 2160p, I can't capture because there is now 4k it media express preferences. I use the latest desktop video drivers. Nothing. Can any one explain me, what I'm doing wrong?

P.s. Today try it on another Mac with desktop video 10.3.4 and when I put media express in 1080p25 and hyperdeck in 2160p25 I can capture video. But in 1080. Interesting thing.
On latest drivers I still don't see anything.

Did you ever figure this out? I have the same issue. When trying to capture from a HyperDeck Studio Pro via Thunderbolt to a mac using Media Express, it doesn't provide an option to capture 2160p. Only 1080 or 720

I've verified this and this is indeed the only option currently available. I'm not sure of the intent of this on the engineering side of things but I've passed along the information.

It has been a few years since this thread has been updated and I have not found other clarifying information about this limitation to 1080 or lower resolutions on Thunderbolt capture on the HyperDeck Studio Pro 2.

I don't see anything in the marketing material or user documentation about this limitation either so it is a bit frustrating to come across it during integration.

Why would capture over Thunderbolt be limited to HD resolutions on a device that is otherwise 4K capable? Are there any plans to address this?

There are no plans to change external capture options past the 1080p30 format that is currently available. The unit does still support the formats mentioned on the tech spec page of the product when recording to the approved SSDs connected to it.
