Products Overheating

PostMon Jan 07, 2013 10:39 pm

I am using several Black Magic products in my video rack including; broadcast converter, Audio to SDI, Decklink SDI card, and UpDownCross. Using the UpDownCross in to broadcast converter I am sending ad SD signal to TV's and projectors. I am having issues with the signal dropping out for 2-3 seconds and I think this is an Overheating issue. I only say that because the equipment felt hot and it was after about 7hrs of continuous recording. Has anyone else had this problem? Do you agree it is an overheating issue? If so what unit do you think the problem is with? Any suggestions? thank you.

Proper spacing between the equipment and possibly also a couple of fans mounted in the front to blow the hot air out of the case, should help keeping it from overheating. I am not quite sure if this is the problem at all, might be, since most BMD equipment gets REALLY hot, but again, I don't know.
