Problem with Television studio and hdmi input

PostTue Jan 15, 2013 1:41 pm

Hi folks

I have a Blackmagic Atem Television studio which I am looking to set up as my live streaming kit.

In order to play out videos I am proposing to use a HDMI player which can play usb drives in HD on a regular tv but the signal from the HDMI cable in this Sumvision player is not showing up on any of the HDMI inputs on the
switcher display even though it plays on regular tv.

Has anyone come across this before? Any suggestions?

This would be a great way of me cueing up prerecorded content if it worked.

Also what's the best way of lining up .mov files for the presenter to call in? Any recommended solutions?

Im working on an IMAC.

Thanks in advance.

i think it is because your multimedia usb drive isn't at the good image format (size and frame rate).
All inputs (hdmi or sdi) must be set at the same image format. For exemple if you have 2 hdmi cam at 1920X1080 29i...your multimedia box must be set at 1920X1080 29i too

Thanks Fabien I will try that.

Someone mentioned that it could be a HDCP coding issue and I may have to strip that out of the signal but will check the player settings.

Cheers

Please let us know if you are able to get this to work. I thought of trying this with my ROKU HD which also has a USB port available. I am interested to hear your experience.

Far as I know, are the two most frequent causes

1.) HDMI-Signal dont't match to ATEMs requirements (1080i, 720p,... - NO 1080p (!) )
2.) HDMI-Signal contains HDCP.

Hi I have tried some new settings but they are limited with the mini media player I have a sum vision micro 2+ which would be great if it worked because it's so small.

Also gonna try the WD live but think I will need to use a mac mini.
