Battery Converter Holder or Bracket

PostFri Aug 31, 2012 12:22 am

Just picked up a Battery Converter SDI to HDMI - I love the build and works great. The problem is that there isnt' any easy way to mount this on a rig or camera (besides gaffer tape...). Does anyone have any solutions?

Would be great for there to be an "official" bracket of some sort.

i went to my local car shop and bought a mobile phone holder the one with the suction cup. i cut the end off it and glued in a 3/8 stud so i could mount it on the tripod. the holder is adjustable in size so i can use it with battery converters and normal mini converters.

hope this helps

Ha! Awesome. I hadn't even thought of that. Great idea!

That's a great idea Jason! I'll have to do that now while I wait for a BMD solution.

I have 2 of the SDI->HDMI converters .. I assumed you would make something of similar design to the Shuttle plate ..

I have also noticed that it is 60mm between the enclosure screws.

BMD, Is there a rail adapter coming? Or a plate similar to the Shuttle?

I hope someone comes up with a solution to mount the BMD Battery Converter on rods or cheeseplates, maybe before the BMCC even ships! I will use the converter with the newly released Ikan VH8, which only features HDMI input:

Meanwhile I have been working on a rig for the camera (as parents wait for new babies, getting clothes and accesories) that includes the awesome Tilta III Quickrelease Baseplate. I'm planning to add a cheeseplate at the rear and attach some velcro pads to the plate and Battery Converter, and secure it with a fastener strap.

If you wanna take a look at the Tilta III Quickrelease Baseplate, I believe there is an invitation-only website for US customers:
http://www.teamtilta.com

I bought mine directly from the main website in China at
http://www.tilta.tv

A useful review about it:

(I think he can get you a referral for the Team Tilta website)

I hope we all get our hands on the BMCC soon and start sharing more info on the real experience of using it!
