Teranex 1080p60 output

PostTue Aug 09, 2016 9:34 am

Hey guys,
how do I get 1080p60 output out of a Teranex 2D or 3D?

I have a button on the device that says 59.94/60. When I activate it, every input signal gets converted to 1080p59.94, not 60.
I know that the broadcast-world means 59.94p when they say 60p, but for my current project I need real 60p Output.

On the teranex Website there is a in/out matrix which differs 1080p59.94 and p60 as well as says that the unit can convert each signal to real 60p.

Any idea how to set this up? Do I Need a special firmware version for this feature?

I've just looked at my Teranex 2D and under Preferences > Project Video Format there's very clearly an option for 1080p/60. I'm in the UK and most of my work requires ProRes422 files at 1080p/50 but they're all there.
Blackmagic Teranex 2D, Ultrastudio Express, Intensity Shuttle (Thunderbolt), Two H.264 Pro Recorders (Mac OSX) & lots of old VTRs used for digital archiving of legacy video formats for major libraries, broadcasters, universities and public archives.

It looks like it can only stay in the same fps range, so the 2D only converts 1080i60 to p60 and vice versa. But no 1080p59.94 to 60 or 60 to 59.94.
So it is strongly connected to the framerate of the input Signal.
The Teraney Express can handle all cross conversions, also the framerates, not only resolution.

Hi,

With release 4.6 all the Teranex rack converters - 2D, 3D and Express allow you to access the 60Hz output frame rates by pushing the 59.94/60 button twice. First push will bring up 59.94, second push will be 60 then it will continue to toggle back and forth. Additionally you can access the 60Hz outputs from the setup utility running on your Mac or PC.
