Combine two Atem Television Studio's ?

PostSat Feb 23, 2013 12:39 pm

Hey,

I was wondering if it was possible to combine two Atem television studios as its perfect for our needs but would like the benefit of 8 HDMI inputs and more SDI inputs.

Regards

you can cascade as many vision mixers as you like.

what is complex is making a usable control system (the blackmagic options are not so useful for this)

8 HDMI inputs won't be very useful due to the very short cable lengths that the ATEM supports on HDMI inputs. Converting to SDI is the best option for dealing with HDMI sources, so a mixer with more SDI inputs will be better than one with loads of HDMI.

I'd suggest you start with the 1ME.

Well either add a matrix router of some type or get a 2ME ATEM.

If you told us a little more about what your trying to do, the kind of sources you have and why your wanting to mix them then we might be abe to be a bit more helpful,

cheers
