ATEM 4K with OBS Studio and LiveStream Producer help!

PostSat Jan 21, 2017 7:02 am

Has anyone gotten an ATEM Production Studio 4K and OBS Studio or LiveStream Producer to play together? Got ATEM running on MBP but OBS Studio and Livestream Producer does not see the ATEM. Does it only work with capture devices?

You need a capture card of some sort to send the video into your encoding software.

Thanks. I assume UltraStudio Mini Recorder would work fine then? If so, Would both OBS Studio and Livestream Producer be able to see the video simultaneously so I can stream out live to multiple CDNs at the same time? If not, Would two of them do the trick?

It's a really bad idea to try and stream to multiple CDNs like that. You would be much better off setting things up properly online so that you have only one outgoing stream. Use an Amazon cloud wowzer instance to bounce your stream on to as many CDMs as you want.

Your on site upload bandwidth will always be the thing which limits the quality you can achieve so it's important to minimise the number of outgoing streams.
