The LAN port works for both control and FTP :)

but can you control it over ethernet with anything other than the ATEM software or a ATEM hardware panel?

it's a great little recorder, i will be buying more of them. but i'm spoiled with my KiPros, they have a nice little web page with transport controls built in. it would be nice to see this feature in the HDmini.

Yes. If you are a software developer, there is information on the Blackmagic Hyperdeck Ethernet Protocol in the users guide.

http://documents.blackmagicdesign.com/H ... Manual.pdf

I, however, am not a developer so I don't know what half of that stuff means... I just know that BM has opened up their Ethernet Protocol for managing the Hyperdecks so that developers can build out their own applications / services.

http://hyperdeck.iamjeffamato.com/ this works really well :)

You can also use JustMacro, or a whole range of Skaahoj hardware to control hyperdecks

I apologize for the ambiguity of my answer. As stated above, both control and FTP are available via Ethernet. Telnet control is documented. FTP less so but it is supported.

well, ftp is rather standard, so any ftp library should potentially be usable, whichever language you're using

But download speed is only 4Mbs or 3Mbs if you are recording. At least those are my speeds over Mt gig but network
