ATEM - 1080p greyed out - only accepts 50i

PostTue Mar 07, 2017 9:07 am

Hello All,

This is my first post so excuse if it has been answered. For some reason my cameras appear black in the
multi-view (and on the deck LCD) when the set video standard is set to 25p but it appears ok when it is set to 50i

Even thought the cameras are set at 1080 25p

Im using a Sony EX3 and a C100 - can see both when set to 50i.

Which is fine in theory but am wondering what the output will be recorded as.

Thanks

Sony EX3 can only output interlaced signal and not the progressive one. So make ur ATEM setting to interlaced

If the Sony EX and C100 are set to 1080p25, the camera's output is changed to 1080i50 via a 2:2 Pulldown to split the frames into Interlaced segments, and placed in a Interlace wrapper. This can be removed in post with a NKE and converted back to 1080p25, but there will be some quality loss, compaired to the original file. If,the cameras can have a PSF 1080 output selected when using 25fps, that can be converted back with little to no IQ loss, and is the scheme used In converting 1080p24/25 to 1080i59.94/50 in broadcasting.
