Micro Studio Camera 4K Operator Tally

Hi guys, just looking at the Micro Studio Camera 4K spec. page:

"Talkback And Tally
Live Tally Indicator:

1 x for talent, 1 x for operator."

Is this wrong? I cannot seem to find more than one...

We're going to place it on a Jib where the operator wants to see when he's live obviously.

We have a Blackmagic Arduino Shield, is it possible to extract tally data from this one? Or from the breakout cable maybe?

Well there is 1 on the front. But it only shows PGM tally. And not PRV tally.

At the back there is Nothing , neither is externally. Maybe if you hook a monitor up to it? But i Didnt test it to that.

The sdi shield can output tally data.

Yeah I own a couple of full size Studio Cameras, so I know its PGM only.

Well it is all in the Libraries.. But most Arduino users don't look at libraries..

For tally there is the Function:
int SDITallyControl::read(byte data[], int dataLength)

For shading info there is the Function:
int SDICameraControl::read(byte data[], int dataLength)

It is possible but you need some expierence with programming.

Yeah that is it.. This is code from the BMD library.. So you will need to write a program around it or ask somebody who already did it.. (in that same topic there is somebody that made a sdi to tally interface i think..)

I don't understand why they don't include PRV tally on the cameras.. The micro studio cam can blink orange if battery is almost empty.. Goes Red when PGM.. So that means they have a RGB or at least a RG led behind it, besides the bright white color.

Because orange is a mixture of Red and Green.. So why no PRV green tally..

A red or Green border around the edge of the LCD would be nice.. They can do anything with overlays.. So why not do that.. It will give it that extra point of useablility..

We wrote some scripts in Node.js + Arduino WiFi to make the Lilliput 663 (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/ ... nitor.html) work with both preview and program with a DSLR (also web interface with fullscreen for smartphones), but now we want to upgrade and use the SDI data rather than WiFi.

This is then my current sketch for jib setup with the BMMSC
