External CCU Option

PostMon Apr 03, 2017 9:08 pm

Hi All.

I am planning to purchase 3 Studio HD 2 cameras for a small studio. I already have a switcher, so I do not plan to get the ATEM switcher. I do need CCU control, however, and prefer an external (hardware) option. The only option I could find is a unit from Skaarhoj, which was evidently made specifically for the Black Magic cameras.

Does anyone have experience with using these units? Or do you know of other options out there for external CCU controls of the BMD Studio HD 2 cameras?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Patrick,
I have tested the Skaarhoj unit at the IBC 2016 with Kasper.. Also tested the unit on their booth with a Micro studio camera.

I'm also a guy that rather likes hardware then software.. So i use hardware to control the software..

You can also control it by JustMacro's and then add a hardware controller with midi..

Thanks for these replies to this (5 months back)! I wasn't receiving notifications when replies were posted, so I am just reading them now. This is helpful. I ended up with the Skaarhoj RCP, which I am just now setting up in our studio.
