PTZ cam to PC over HDMI or SDI?

PostSun Apr 09, 2017 8:52 pm

I have 2 PTZ cams: Clearone Unite200, this model has HDMI output.

What will be best setup to connect these cams to HP 820 workstation for livecasting with Wirecast?
I tried USB but not stable and delay is to much for me...

I am thinking of capture board Blackmagic Design Declink mini recorder. Cams output 1920x1080 through HDMI port, I need 15 meters to PC.
Will this work over HDMI or better to convert HDMI next to camera to SDI through Blackmagic Micro Converter HDMI to SDI and input the SDI signal to Declink mini recorder.
How many Declink mini recorder boards can I put into my HP 820 PC? Maybe I want to use 3 cams in future.

Thx

At 15 meters, your only choice is to use SDI cables, too long a run for HDMI, which as a 5-meter limit.
Cheers.

HDMI - SDI Micro converters should do the job and they're pretty cheap.
