Recording Web Presenter PGM OUT

PostThu May 11, 2017 3:13 pm

Has anyone tried recording from the SDI PGM OUT with AverMedia Live Gamer Portable?
Are there any issues with the recording when switching inputs?

I ask because in this video (about 8 mins in) the Hyperdeck Studio Mini stops recording when the Web Presenter switches between 2 sources that are not perfectly matched.

Yeah, you're probably going to have issues switching between devices. I haven't tried it, but switching resolutions or frame rates while recording is going to kill any recorder that I'm aware of.

You'd be better off either recording the Web Presenter's USB output or putting an ATEM switcher in front of the Web Presenter to lock the input frame rate.

I would be good if you could program an EDID for the HDMI from the SDI input.

Also an option on the display to say both connected devices are same resoultion.

I'm actually planning on recording 2 matched inputs, but I also wanted to know the worst case scenario.

Is there anyone who has successfully recorded matched inputs?

Ok Testing

Matched output of 1080i50 input and audio AFV.

Audio Works Perfectly into Pix 260i

Output is Same resoultion as input. (not downscaled to 720p25).

I can send you the video if you want to see.

Yes!!!!
It looks like the Web Presenter is finally coming into it's own.

A video would be great, thanks,

The bad news is that it looks like I'll be spending more again, I'm starting to think of more ways to use it now.
I'll have to post another topic.

Thanks for the update Phil, looks like it is time to get the WP! Did you try using a audio inout via the XLR line input? One of my app, icstions is to feed a SDI video feed (no embedded audio) and corresponding audio line feed in the XLR, and record the SDI out with the audio embedded, in addition to switching in a HDMI input,

There is xlr input on the unit. (Selectable line/mic). Each audio can have gain applied.

Would be nice if the web presenter had a network with web interface. So atem software could control the box.

It would be nice if the same ethernet connection also let you stream directly to a CDN.. :D
Unfortunatly it is not on there.. While i think if BMD would come up with a streamer and a receiver box they would again have a huge market open for them.. HINT :!: HINT :!:

It would be great to have a 1 Box Casting system. (Like the Teradek Cube) but also that same box having an output to connect to a PC for Monitoring / Webcam to other places.
