GPI/Tally Ovepress control of smarthub?

PostTue May 16, 2017 9:59 am

Hi BM Forum.

We have a 20x20 smart hub and ATEM 1 ME 4k mixer connected to a GPI tally unit over a network switch. We can get the unit to control our tally system no problem, but we can't get it to control an output of the smarthub to provide touchdown/overpress facility. Is it possible for the gpi/tally unit to work with both Atem and Smarthub at the same time, or do you need two GPI units? Is it best to use a network switch or hub? When we input the ip address of the gpi/tally unit into the control interface of the smarthub it tells us this unit is controlled by another device, presumably the Atem. Can you give us some ideas please?

Many thanks, Alex.

Hi Alex,

You will need two GPI and Tally Interface units. One is configured with ATEM firmware and the other with Videohub firmware.

This is done using a USB connection to the appropriate Blackmagic Software.
