ATEM 2 M/E Broadcast Studio 4K Control

PostFri Jun 02, 2017 4:06 pm

Hi all,

I've been doing some searching etc on externally controlling a ATEM 2 M/E Broadcast Studio 4K and I've got a mixed result so I thought I would just ask!

We need to do some simple macro and snapshot recalls via a ethernet or serial connection and I have seen some UDP commands floating around but nothing offical. I know the Hyperdeck has ethernet control protocols but does the ATEM studio switchers have anything?

Many Thanks in advance

Hi,
The official API is C++ material. For Scripting using the API there only 2 Windows options I know of; Just Macros and Windows PowerShell extension.

People have reverse engineered the network protocol (UDP) and built Arduino based solutions but there are also some UDP based libraries for Node.JS and Python/Pearl although I don't know how well maintained they are.

You can see the PowerShell ATEM Macro control example on this page

Just Macros is much more polished (Dedicated shell that uses LUA scripting language)
