ATEM TVS Pro HD: Are the 4 SDI Outs programmable?

PostFri Jun 02, 2017 6:45 pm

I'm looking at purchasing the ATEM Television Studio Pro HD for my church setup, but based on the product manual and specs, I can't tell if it will provide all the configurable outputs we need.

Does anyone know if the 4 SDI Outs are straight loop-throughs of the 4 SDI Ins, or if they can be separately assigned to send different sources (more like an Aux out)?

In my ideal scenario, I would use all the switcher's outputs in this way:
SDI Program Out: to SD Record Deck
SDI Aux Out: to in-sanctuary projector screen
SDI Out 1: Program feed to to RF Modulator for facility closed circuit screens
SDI Out 2: Program feed to down-converted backup recording
SDI Out 3: Program feed to web streaming converter
SDI Out 4: Loop-through of Camera 4 to Camera Op's monitor

Any feedback is much appreciated!

All the SDI out's are fixed Program out except for an option to exclude the audio from the associated input. Loop through is not an option.

It looks like the only non program feed you want is Camera 4 to Camera Op's monitor, so you would run this feed off the Aux. All the other feeds would run of Prog outs (doesn't matter which ones).

Great information. Thank you for correcting and clarifying, Ian.

My aux out will already be used for a switchable feed to my in-sanctuary projector. So I suppose I'll just need to get some kind of splitter out of the camera itself for my operator.

Again, thanks very much!

BMD Micro converter is good for this as it has SDI loop through and means you can get a cheaper HDMI monitor,
