Disk/SSD Recorder Remote Port

PostMon Jun 12, 2017 3:23 pm

Is it possible to add a HyperDeck Studio or Studio Mini to the daisy chain of Duplicator 4k and have the Duplicator 4k trigger record and pause? The Duplicator seems to have remote in & out ports, while the Studio and Studio Mini only have a single port - which I would assume means they would need to be at the end of the daisy chain. Ideally would love to have a single setup that records both "proxy" and "high res" versions of the same video file.

No but you could search for a remote controller that is able to trigger the Record VTR style.. (Or an arduino with some 422 driver and some code that sends the right command..)

Connect both decks to this in parallel and just hit record on that controller.. You might need to put both recorders in REM mode.. in order to functions with a remote..

Thats too bad. Do you have any 422 controller you'd recommend? Doesn't need to have any fancy features (REW/FF) - just stop and start.

Maybe check out the JLCooper VTC1 which is one of the simpler RS422 VTR controllers.
Or perhaps a used DNF Controls ST100 which can often be found for $100 (or less) on eBay.
