Need Info about Blackmagic UpDown Cross Converter

Can anybody give me detail info about the blackmagic UpDown Cross converter and what exactly it is used for ?

It's used by people who forgot to buy a Decimator MDHX, it converts between some formats of SDI and some other formats of SDI. It also adds a significant delay to the signal path.

If you think you need a UDC then buy a Decimator instead.
