SDI Monitor Out (SUPER)

Can one of the SDI outputs be configured to show/monitor status of the hyperdeck (i.e. play, record, stop, etc) and timecode going into the unit? The standard "super" data displayed in a QC environment?

No, this kind of information is displayed on the small screen on the front of the HyperDeck units, but is not available on any of the SDI or HDMI video outputs. It is also possible to get this kind of status information via the Ethernet control protocol and RS422 (9-pin) ports but it would require some additional 3rd party (or custom) solution to turn this into a visual display.

Some kind of status overlay would certainly be an interesting option for the SDI monitor output on the full-sized HyperDeck units. Perhaps this could be implemented in a firmware update, but I am not sure if the hardware is capable enough.

http://hyperdeck.iamjeffamato.com/ is something I have been watching for a year or two. I've not had a chance to use this yet but it looks like a powerful tool for deck control

I use HyperDeck Panel, it's great. Gang recording, file naming(!!!), seems to do better with timecode too.
