I see a lot of reviews over the last couple years about fan noise issues in 4k rackmount products preventing them from being used inside the studio.
My video studio is small and includes all my equipment, so I would need to make sure any products aren't going to be loud enough to be picked up by the mics.
Has this issue been fixed in the BM 4K capture devices / 4K switchers / etc?
If not, do any of you have alternative suggestions? I don't want to do all the fan mods suggested by some folks.
The Thread opener has a small Studio that includes all of his equipment. I fear he hasn't a climated server room. Like many other costumers of Black Magic - they use BM because it fits into tight budgets.
Thanks. Yes, I have one small room inside an office. My colleagues are already upset I stole a conference room for a studio. As much as I'd like to, I can't commander another "machine room"
Even with extensive cooling needs, I'm pretty sure that quiet fans and heat sinks are doable-- so I'm pretty surprised it's still an issue after a few years.
