Sony 25fps not being recognised by ATEM Studio

Hi

I have a multi cam set up using a BM Atem Studio HD. I have 3 BM Studio cameras but because i have 2 pocket cameras with 25fps I have all cameras set to 25fps

I recently bought sa Sony EWx1 but even though it is sending out 25fps (I've checked with a different non BM device, the Atem and Hyeprdeck see the Sony at 1080i50.

Any suggestions?

EX1 supports SMPTE Standard HDSDI (1.5G) at the following...

1920x1080 @ 50i or 59.94i, also 25PsF or 29.97PsF.

I personally would ditch the 2 pocket cams.. Or use Decimators to up them to 50 FPS.. And run everything in 50/60P. Much more smooth results

I have thought of ditching the pocket cameras but they are small and unobtrusive and give me a shot I like.


I would just like to know why the Blackmagic gear can't see the Sony sending 25fps. Any ideas?

Are you perhaps sending a PsF signal? I believe I've had that show up as interlaced on BMD stuff before.

Hello Mal. Many cameras do not output the rate they are set to record internally. In this case the camera is probably outputting a 50PsF signal which looks exactly like 50i as has been previously observed.
