ATEM Software Control crashing on non primary admin user?

hey all

I'm having an issue where ATEM Software Control won't stay running on a user account that's admin but not the primary account (macOS). BM tech support says "We tested ATEM Control Software that it will work with primary admin privileges. However, we didn't test it with other different privileges levels."

It usually crashes while loading content from the ATEM. This only happens on this non-primary admin account. I can switch to the main admin account on the same Mac and it runs just fine. This secondary account is running fewer, not more extra apps and running nothing that the primary is not. I have reinstalled the software while logged into that user even. But it still happens.

I've tried looking at crash logs… but bizarrely I can't find any for the ATEM app?!

Anyone experienced this?
