Sounds like an HDCP issue. I run into that with macs all the time.. PCs not so much. I say that because cheap chinese splitters are the most common "Work around" for content protection issues.
as I have learned as well, formats really need to be the same. 2 computers at 1080i, and one at 1080p will not fly.. make sure they're all on the same video resolution as the atem.
I have created several issues like the one you're experiencing. Usually getting all resolutions and frame rates in line solves the problems handily.
