Mini Recorder works only interlaced

Hello,
I am trying to set up my Mini Recorder, but unfortunately it only works if the camera outputs 1080i and does not work when the camera outputs 1080p. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance

what frequency does you camera output when in 1080p mode?

Mini recorder does not support "3g" payload (1080p59.94/60)

I am not aware of frequency, but it's a 25p 1080p. The mini recorder only seems to work with 720p or 1080i. I'm trying to understand whether it is a software problem or hardware. I am using OBS to capture and streem

From the Website::
SD Video Standards

525i59.94 NTSC, 625i50 PAL

HD Video Standards

720p50, 720p59.94, 720p60
1080p23.98, 1080p24, 1080p25, 1080p29.97, 1080p30, 1080PsF23.98, 1080PsF24, 1080PsF25, 1080PsF29.97, 1080PsF30
1080i50, 1080i59.94, 1080i60

So no 1080P50/60 :!:

I'm looking into 1080p25 but no luck. Can anyone confirm that it works apart from what the website says?

What camera are you using? Some cameras will output 1080p50 or 1080p60 externally, even when set to record 1080p25 or 1080p30 internally.

Dave and et all, many cameras will, output 1080i50/60, not progressive when set to record 1970p24/25or 1080p30,as hemoutout signal has a 2:2or 2:3 pulldown applied and the resulting signal is placed in an interlace wrapper to give an interlace output. Which is why the Mini Recorder is record8ng the signal as 1080i 50/60. You can test a camera output by connecting it to a TV monitor and orssminfo to see the output signal resolution the TV monitor is receiving.
Cheers

That is correct many camera output 50-60 even when you set to 25-30. But Sony A7sii A7rii A6500 do output 1080p25 when you set the cameras to record in 1080 resolution. I did the test on my TV and it's positive. Also
in Blackmagic desktop video Setup software it shows that the Mini recorder is receiving a 1080p.25 signal. Could it be a software (OBS) problem? What do you guys use?

Sounds like it to me, most online sites do not stream 1080 progressive signals, 720p is the highest, and is why the Web Presenter uses 720p as an output.
Cheers

So which software do you recommend in order to stream 1080p on youtube? (Wierd though there are 1080p settings on OBS)

Actually I also tried with Blackmagic Media Express and it does exactly the same thing

After spending a whole day doing test, i found out a few things and it is rather messy. If I want to shoot 1080 Progressive, the only way is to set the camera to NTSC (even though I live in europe) and shoot 23.976. the other options are not accepted. there is no 25p or 30p. The camera is capable of outputting these option as I can see the property of the signal in Blackmagic Desktop Video Setup, but no capture from the mini recorder. I have 2 mini recorder and it does the same with both. Now all this above was with the hdmi cable straight from the camera to the Mini Recorder, but the way I want to use it is to go through a video mixer (Roland V-1HD). when I go through the video mixer the 23.976 is not accepted by the mixer. So my only option so far are either 1080i 25 or whatever frame, or 720p

Are you sure the camera is actually outputting 1080p25 over HDMI when set to record that internally? I'm not sure about the a6500, but there are lots of reports from Sony a7sii and a7rii users that the cameras only output 1080p50 or 1080p60 even when the internal recording mode is set to a different frame rate.

For example, see the following pages:
https://community.sony.com/t5/Alpha-SLT ... d-p/546322
http://cheesycam.com/weird-60p-hdmi-out ... er-monitor

Also, keep in mind that the Roland V-1HD is not capable of outputting a 1080p25 signal. At 1080 resolution, the supported output formats are: 1080/59.94i, 1080/50i, 1080/59.94p, 1080/50p.

My suggestion would probably be to set the camera to capture at 1080p25 and the V-1HD switcher to output 1080i50. Usually what will happen in this case is that the each of the interlaced fields are actually from the same frame (captured at the same moment in time). The Mini Recorder should be able to accept the 1080i50 signal, and you can cleanly de-interlace the signal in OBS to turn it back into 1080p25 for streaming.

Thanks for your reply. I cannot be sure 100 per cent, but the TV test is positive and Blackmagic desktop video setup software is telling me that the camera signal is 1080p 25. In the end I'm doing as you suggested 1080p25 on camera and 1080i50 on the mixer. I will look into deinterlacing in OBS. Thank you

So since there are 2 fields from the same frame, should I use discard as deinterlace method?

I believe the Discard deinterlace method will just throw away one of the fields, effectively cutting the resolution in half.

I think you probably want the Blend option which will combine two fields into a single frame. With true interlaced content, this would end up combining fields from different points in time, but I think in your case, both fields should be from the same frame.

Just wanted to necro to say I have the same issue and Blackmagic support does not help, it must be a bug with the independent Blackmagic driver, the Media Express software shows image but the driver from Blackmagic is not showing 1080p30 support
