Pic in Pic ATEM TVS HD

PostWed Nov 08, 2017 7:04 pm

I just purchased the ATEM Television Studio HD stand alone unit.
I would like to do Pic in Pic for a Powerpoint slide in background and Camera 1 Pic in top right corner.
I am guessing I need to work with Up stream Key.
Any guidance or training video appreciated.

Take a look at this post from a wk or so back...

Alternatively you are correct in you can use the upstream key using the dve to place ur Presenter in a box over top the PowerPoint input.

Alternatively my preference ( if we've only got the TVS or 1me available to us is to frame the Presenter in camera standing far left or far right of screen, then use the usk/dve to show the power point ⅔ screen size positioned centre left or centre right ( the opposite side of the Presenter)

Thanks Andrew,
I had not thought of using the USKey to bring in the PP slides.
That works well if the PP is older style 4:3 aspect ratio and leave right edge of wide screen for the presenter.
I have been playing with the USKey, here is a clip of what I setup.

Yep, you got the idea.

Admittedly the image I used wasn't the best to demonstrate the resolution of the power point ( was simply something I grabbed off the interwebs) but you'll simply scale it down a little more to allow for a 16:9 aspect.
When were running this scenario with a 2me we run a motion background with two boxes, one for PowerPoint one for Presenter that allows us to fade to full screen either of the sources which makes it much more dynamic then fade back agn to both as above.

You could also put the power point source on preview and tie the Usk to it . Doing a cross fade from pvw to pgm will have the ability to fade in or out the PIP box using auto transition. And like you I'm not to keen on a large border width either.
